She was Wanted as a judge, but due to her pregnancy earlier this year it just wasn’t possible. Simon Cowell has always wanted her to at least play some part in the show.
A report in People has claimed she will assist Simon during the judges’ houses stage of the competition.
A source said: “Mariah is definitely confirmed to be a part of The X Factor. She is confirmed to tape something with Simon Cowell at the judges’ homes.
“Each of the judges will tape something with mentors they have selected and Simon has selected Mariah to do that with him. The judges mentor the talent they pick and she will be working with them.”
Mariah’s husband, Nick Cannon told Extra: “Now it’s official. I still don’t know what she’s doing, but she’s doing something! She’s ready and excited!”
The X Factor premieres in America on Wednesday, September 21.

According to reports, Simon Cowell is hoping that Adele will perform on both the British and American editions of The X Factor.
A source said: “Simon couldn’t get her for the judges’ houses stage, so he now wants her to sing with one of the contestants on the grand final in December.
“There’s no denying Adele is the biggest singer in the world right now and Simon wants her to appear on both the UK and US X Factors. She is a massive fan of the show and even went to watch the US X Factor auditions earlier this year.”
Right around the corner The X Factor launches on Fox on Wednesday September 21st. According to the Daily Mail reports, each episode will cost $3.5million! The is per episode not the season! Simon Cowell has confessed that he worries that The X Factor USA may turn out to be a huge failure.
Simon explained: “This better bloody work or I am in huge trouble.
Talking of an audition in New Jersey, Simon said: “It felt like there were 250 people in that room and every one of them was petrified. I thought to myself, ‘This is either going to work or it’s not, and there’s nothing I can do about it.’”
Even though the show is not actually launching until September, the show has already had a very good amount of press coverage throughout the year. There was the build up to the unveiling of who the judges would be. Of course we had the axing of Cheryl Cole from the panel as well. Fox also has shown trailers for the X Factor during big sporting events.
So what Do you think about The X Factor? Will be a big success, or a big flop?
